Matt's Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was Matt's 43rd birthday.  It began with a birthday parade from our friends that we are in small group with.  I just love these people!

We've done a parade where we just drove by and didn't stop.  We did one where we stopped and chatted for just a bit early in the stay at home orders.  Matt's bday fell by the time that the orders were lifted for all of the northland so I told people who were comfortable to bring their lawn chairs for a driveway party.

The next day Matt went golfing with some buddies.  He sent me this photo.  Isn't it pretty?

Sunday was his actual birthday.  He opened presents from me and Pickles.  Then we got ready for the party with family.

We had a backyard BBQ.  Thankfully, the weather was nice and we were able to hang outside and play.  It's so weird right now having parties.  We know we need to get out and be around people, especially family, as long as we are safe about it.  But we also know we can't/shouldn't party like we used to right now.  Weird times!  We had the best time and our patio is made for parties.

After Matt's side of the family left, my side showed up.  We partied in two parts.  They weren't sure who or how soon to get the kids around other people so they didn't come for lunch.  It's a good thing because our house is kind of a second home to the Reagan kids and they were so excited they got to stay.  They were in and out, helping themselves to toys and bottled water.  I LOVE that they are so comfortable here.   We had another great party part two.

Johnny and his mini-me, Joanna.

JoJo turned one a few days after Matt's birthday so we gave her her present early.

We are blessed beyond measure with our families that love us so well!

On a side note:  We have the best hill in our backyard.  It's one of the things I didn't like about this house when we looked at it, but the rest of it outweighed that.  Look at how happy these kids are!  Both sets of nephews and nieces spent a lot of time just rolling down the hill.
