Hello Monday! 10.5.20

We celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary on Thursday.  We began with Anniversary French Toast.

The traditional gift for 10 years is tin or aluminum.  We bought a car last month.  We had an afternoon couples massage.  It was the best!  This is the second time I've been to this spa and I have not been let down.

Then we headed downtown to the Westin.  We ended up getting the...

Yep, the presidential suite!  The Obama's, the Bushes, and all kinds of famous people have stayed there.

Reading on one of the many couches.  This suite is bigger than our house!

We decided this would be our bedroom.  When we were going to sleep I said, "Do you think Barack and Michelle slept here?"

The views were amazing!

We enjoyed a tasty charcuterie board with champagne and beer.

We had dinner at Lidia's.  It was such a gorgeous night we were able to walk and sit on the patio.  It was a really great night!

We drove up to Iowa on Friday after dropping Pickles off at Johnny's.  She loves it there!  It's like a child, she runs off to play before we are even out of the door.  Ha!

We made a pit stop on the way to visit John Wayne's birthplace and THE bridges of Madison county.  I've only seen that movie once and I didn't love it.  But a covered bridge is a cool thing to see.

This tower was built in honor of some of the first settlers.  It was cool!

Then we drove over to see John Wayne's birthplace.

The museum was about to close so we only got to go in and see the gift show but that's okay.

The funeral was as you would expect a funeral for a baby to be.  It was gut wrenching and our hearts just ache for our friends.  Please keep them in your prayers.
