Rice Krispy Treats - Two Ways

We had a treat day at work last month and I signed up for dessert, as usual.  I had seen this recipe for Pumpkin Caramel Rice Krispy Treats.  Then I saw this one.  Both found on Pinterest, of course.  I was just looking for a reason to try them out.  After reading these two recipes I came up with another idea for Rice Krispy treats.  So I set out to make two different versions.  Here you have:

For the Pumpkin Spice version, I used pumpkin spice marshmallows, krispy rice cereal, butter, caramel sauce, and for the topping I melted some white chocolate chips then topped with Halloween sprinkles.  Why not guild the lilly?

The white chocolate and sprinkles aren't pictured because it was a last minute decision.  The recipe couldn't be easier.  First you make your basic krispy marshmallow treats.
1.  Melt your marshmallows with 3 tablespoons of butter.
2.  Once it's melted add in some of the caramel sauce.  I used about 1/2 a cup.  Stir it in.
3.  Dump in your rice krispies and stir.
4.  Pat it into your pre-buttered 9x13 pan.
5.  Melt your white chocolate and pour it on.  Throw some fun sprinkles on there too.

For the Rocky Road version, I used regular marshmallows, krispy rice cereal, butter, chocolate pudding, walnuts, milk chocolate chips, and more mini marshmallows.

Again, it couldn't be easier.
1.  Melt a bag of marshmallows with 3 tablespoons of butter.
2.  Once it's melted pour in that pudding and stir it up.
3.  Quickly drop in some more marshmallows, walnuts, and chocolate chips.  I didn't measure anything.
4.  Pat it into your pre-buttered 9x13 pan.
5.  For presentation purposes I sprinkled some more marshmallows, walnuts, and chocolate chips on top.

Both were so yummy!  The pumpkin spice ones with the caramel were chewy and sticky.  The rocky road were amazing!  Using the pudding mix is an insanely good idea.  Imagine the possibilities.  Butterscotch, Banana Split, Pistachio, French Vanilla.... Oh my!
